Thanks for the help. I have no idea how this was figured out, but thanks. Changing Profile did not work. Running chkdsk did not work. Booting Office in safe mode did work. The Basic Office Repair changed things for the better but did not fix.
The "Full Office Repair" spent an hour "fixing" things and only downloaded office, reinstalled everything and blew away the product authorization code. Obviously, working remotely, I did not have this and eventually it was recovered by in-laws A little warning from MSFT that this was a by product of the "fix" might have been nice.
Disabling add-ins did not work. Hope my venting helps someone else avoid this massive waste of time. Spent several hours searching for this issue and tried everything else Fix 2 disable hardware acceleration solved everything I had the same issue and a combination of Fix 2: Disable hardware acceleration and updating DisplayLink Driver and it fixed the issue!

Would this be the same fix? I just ran into this issue and it seemed that Lync was hanging in the background. Once I killed that I was able to open outlook fine! Made sense since the user having the problem received a graphics driver update from Windows Updates the same time Outlook stopped loading. That is certainly not why people buy Apple products.

I agree, but in my case I only have one device with the issue. After trying almost everything, we stumbled on this post and Fix 2 worked like magic for Outlook on all our Dell E and Dell E laptops that are running Office Outlook would hang at loading and if and when it would come up, it would freeze accessing any of the emails.
